Jeakes House is a perfectly situated Bed
and Breakfast in Rye and we are happy to advise you on the many

extensive information on places to visit and interesting walks
around Rye and the surrounding countryside.
Descendant of a Huguenot family which
had established a bakery in the High Street, Samuel Jeake senior
(1623-1690) was Town Clerk of Rye for ten years, but his
Nonconformist preaching led to his having to give up this post.
“Beautiful B&B in a wonderful central location” - Lisa C.
Jeake’s House provides outstanding accommodation in Rye. This
beautiful 16th Century house has the highest standards of modern
comfort and relaxed hospitality. We have taken the utmost care
to create elegant and comfortable surroundings in all the
private and public rooms whilst maintaining many unique and
historical features of the past. Rye accommodation has an
excellent reputation, and Jeake's House has established its'
place as one of the finest in the town. All our reviews confirm
our friendly service, including special attention from our two
Tonkinese cats, Frddie and Monte.
Located in the centre of Rye on the famous cobbled Mermaid
Street, Jeake's House is close to all the quaint shops and
eclectic restaurants that ply their trade in this historic and
atmospheric town. Yet it retains a wonderful sense of calm and
tranquillity in which to relax.
We are proud to confirm that this Rye accommodation has a
5 star award and is highly recommended by the AA. Visit Britain
has awarded us their Gold Standard, and we also hold the Good
Hotel Guide Cesar award and the Les Routiers Best Bed and
Breakfast in London and the South East. Read reviews of Jeake's
House on Trip Advisor and the Good Hotel Guide; they have great
things to say about us. See also Jeake's House on Channel 4's

The town of Rye is a lively market town with
richly contrasting examples of architecture which span several
centuries. There is no more convenient place to stay than
Jeake's House guest accommodation, with its' famous cobbled
Mermaid Street. Rye boasts a fine museum within the Norman keep
of the Ypres Castle, an ancient church with an Elizabethan clock
and the last stained glass window created by Edward Burne-Jones
and William Morris, and many art galleries and potteries.
Staying at Jeake's House bed and breakfast in Rye also provides
access to the surrounding countryside; there are many historical
and beautiful villages and towns nearby. We are always happy to
advise on trips to historic castles, beautiful gardens and
picturesque villages; and can recommend the best local
restaurants and friendly inns.
Parking in this small town is restricted, and we are happy
therefore to be able to supply guests a space in our private car
park at a small charge, one of the only hotels in Rye able to do
so. Our car park is a 3 minute walk from Jeake's House; on
arrival we recommend that you park on Mermaid Street so we can
assist with your luggage, provide you with a parking permit and
direct you to the car park.
Do allow yourselves plenty of time; few of our guests leave Rye
and this wonderful accommodation without regretting that they
had not arranged to say a bit longer.

Breakfast
Richard takes a great deal of pride
in preparing and cooking a huge variety of
breakfasts!
As the Hotel Guru says: "They don’t do lunch or dinner but the breakfast offered would last many people all day; smoked salmon, kippers, ham, kidneys, toasted cheese on walnut bread, plus eggs many ways, etc."
